Henrik Kähler

Having served on the board of FAHU since the very beginning in 2007, Henrik Kähler has visited countless savings groups in East Africa. The interaction with savings group members has long since convinced Henrik of the potential of savings groups to set people free and strengthen the local communities. With his diverse background from government, IT, the financial sector, and now as an angel investor helping East African entrepreneurs, Henrik has a broad angle with which to approach development initiatives presented to the FAHU board.

“Having travelled in East Africa for many years, I'm inspired by the enormous potential in the region - and disappointed by how little progress I see in practice. Both as a private investor and as the chair of the FAHU Foundation, I aspire to make catalytic knowledge, capital, and new technology fix broken value chains and pave the way for a healthy business environment. I want everyone to get a fair chance to make a decent living for themselves and thereby also contribute to a healthy economic development in the region.”
